ANZ Trustees Foundation: Rob Guest Endowment
After the sudden death of Rob Guest, OBE, in October 2008, and in recognition of his achievements in the musical theatre industry, ANZ Trustees established a memorial fund in his honour to help emerging young performers in musical theatre.
The Rob Guest Endowment will be awarded each year to an emerging musical theatre performer selected by a panel of industry experts. The Award will provide the emerging performer with further knowledge and training in the industry to develop their potential and become one of Australias leadingn musical theatre performers as the wonderful Rob Guest was.
The Endowment is under the guidance of the representative committee, John Frost OAM, Tim McFarlane, Bernadette Hayes and Kellie Dickerson and is supported by a number of external organizations including The Gordon Frost Organisationi, ANZ Trustees, Her Majesty's Theatre and more. 2009 saw the Endowment created, the competition launched and the inaugural concert staged at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne. Hosted by Bert Newton, the concert saw some of Australia’s finest musical theatre performers take to the stage, something that continued in 2010. The two concerts have seen some of the countries brightest stars compete, most loved stars perform and the most respected creatives participate, and all at the Endowment are very thankful for everyone's involvement.
Now in its third year, The Rob Guest Endowment hopes to grow to even bigger heights in 2011 and become a regular and respected part of the years entertainment calendar, and the industry as a whole.
On Monday 4th October, 2010 at Her Majesty’s theatre, Melbourne, the second Rob Guest Endowment Concert was presented by ANZ Private Bank.
